about
I wrote this song a few years back, and performed it for a few years before finally sitting down at the piano with my talented friend, pianist and composer, Andreas Papapetrou, to work out an arrangement. He believed in the song, as did so many others - my list of people I'm grateful for, is long.
"Flow" features my best friend's vocal harmonies, Marilena Zackheos, lead singer of Grendel Babies (Washington, D.C.), who recorded her part at Av Playroom, in Cyprus. My wonderful bandmate in London, Maddy Hamilton recorded the cello , and my long-time collaborator, great friend and mentor, Mike Connaris, Mcasso Music, recorded my vocals in his studio in Carnaby Street, and mixed and mastered the song to perfection.
Thanks to Yessidraws for the fabulous cover art and Miguel Trapezaris for the photo she based it on.
On the 6th of March, I also released the music video for "Flow" on my YouTube channel. The video was directed by Bartek Podkowa, Seven Hills Films, along with director of photography, Shaun Waldie and gaffer, Tom Nowell.
lyrics
Flow
Come Stay Go
How can You Know
Flip it over
Thoughts abound
Cry Kiss Hold
There’s silence on this road
Half goodbyes
and I hear you running
running off
Climbed my hair that night
Through the window wide
Stole my brightest light
Now I’m sunk in plight
Came into my home
Called me love your own
Promised me sweet skies
How I miss your eyes
Flow out of my bed
Flow inside my head
Flow so hard to forget
Flow still in the red
Turn Leave Fall
Remember Not to crawl
Years go by n’ I hear you running,
running off
Climbed my hair that night
Through the window wide
Stole my brightest light
Now I’m sunk in plight
Came into my home
Called me love your own
Promised me sweet skies
How I miss your eyes
Flow out of my bed
Flow inside my head
Flow so hard to forget
Flow still in the red
You did it like no other
You wrapped me up in fire
So many wounds desire
Open
The days go slow in sorrow
I look towards tomorrow
Another love will follow
Flow out of my bed
Flow inside my head
Flow so hard to forget
Flow still in the red
Flow crushing my life
Flow dark in this light
Flow you can’t hear me cry
Flow we run out of time
Why couldn’t
you
love
me?
